Resumo (PT):
Um dos objectivos da medicina dentária é a substituição dos dentes ausentes, ou dos
dentes extensamente destruídos, por estruturas protéticas que possibilitem uma reabilitação
funcional e estética do sistema estomatognático. Este artigo estuda o efeito biomecânico da
interacção de uma prótese parcial fixa com o tecido ósseo mandibular. Através de um estudo
experimental “in-vitro”, foram medidas as deformações no tecido ósseo cortical e na prótese
dentária, resultantes da acção mandibular. Os resultados são validados com uma simulação
numérica.
