SIGARRA - Information System for Aggregated Management of Academic Resources and Records

The University of Porto (U.PORTO), including all its Organic Units (OUs) and Organisms, benefits from the use of a quality academic information system, which promotes the effectiveness and efficiency of its activities, at various levels, administration and management, teaching, research and development, and university extension.

This situation stems from a consistent and long-standing strategy of developing the computer and organisational components of an information system that responds to the growing demands of a modern University. In this path, the following stand out: the Academic Management (AM) application, developed in the Rectory from 1992 for the Academic Services of the Faculties, SiFEUP, an academic information system developed in the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto from 1996, and the Human Resources Management (HRM) application, developed in the Rectory from 1999 for the Human Resources Service.
