Integrated Master in Veterinary Medicine

The training in Veterinary Medicine at ICBAS started in the academic year 1994/95.

The course is organized according to the system of credits and lasts 11 semesters, the last one being booked to the internship.

This course has evolved, face to the new challenges, being an Integrated Master in accordance with the new Law on the Education System, destined to apply the principles of the "Bologna Process".

Part of vocational training is taught in the Vairão Clinical Center, ( How to get to CCVAIRÃO) which includes the Vairão Clinical Center of Equine and Vairão Center for Animal Reproduction. The companion animal’s component is taught in Veterinary Hopsital of Porto University (UPVet). Thus, the training in clinical and animal production gives special emphasis to companion animals, horses, cattle and small ruminants (Syllabus).

The classes of the Integrated MS in Veterinary Medicine are lectured in Portuguese: The professors can provide support in English and adapt some evaluation methods, in order to reduce some of the difficulties associated with language skills. However, these aspects depend on the coordinator of each discipline, therefore we strongly advise students to attend a Portuguese-language course before or during the start of the mobility, maybe resorting to the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto.

ERASMUS + / Free-Mover

Notes regarding the Syllabus:
