Abstract (EN): Hearing loss is the most frequent symptom of otosclerosis. In many cases, surgery is an option for its treatment. In an operation called stapedectomy, a surgeon replaces the diseased bone by a prosthetic device that allows sound waves to be passed to the inner ear. The abnormal bone reduces the movement of the stapes, which reduces the amount of sound that is transferred to the cochlea. This work compares different levels of the stapes stiffness, simulating otosclerosis, and its rehabilitation using different kind of prostheses. For this, a model of tympano-ossicular chain was created, using the finite element method.
