Objectives
To provide a general view on the antecedents and forerunners of Social Sciences.
To introduce students to the evolutionary perspective on social behavior.
Learning outcomes and competences
At the end of the Unit, the students should be able to:
1. Understand the history of Social Sciences and how they differ from Natural Sciences.
2. Identify the key thinkers and theories that have shaped social thought.
3. Analyse the importance of records and statistics in the evolution of Social Sciences.
4. Explore fundamental concepts such as culture, society, identity, and power.
5. Relate Psychology to other Social Science disciplines (Sociology, Anthropology, Political Science, Economics, History).
6. Develop critical thinking about the production of knowledge in Social Sciences.

- The foundation of Social Sciences in the 19th century.

Module 3: The Evolution of Records and Statistics in Social Sciences

- Socialisation processes and identity formation.

Classification improvement

The final grade is the highest among the one obtained initially and the one that results from the effectuated improvement of the grade.
