Objectives
Identify the complexity of educational activity and the tensions inherent to art and education;
Reflect about the relationshio between teacher /student in the field of arts education;
Cross the artistic and the educational;
Understand teaching activity as a questioning of the discourses on teaching, education, and the arts;
The teaching activitiy as a practice of research and the construction of a critical positioning.
Learning outcomes and competences
Recognize the contingencies, the contradictions and the potential of teaching in contemporary times;
To problematize the places and the figures of the teacher and the student in the teaching of the visual arts;
To face arts education in the construction of the teacher and student;
To construct proposals from artistic contexts;
To problematize the tensions between the artistic and the educational;
To present and discuss, in the epistemological field of arts education, the proposals of activities.

Eligibility for exams
Qualified participation in classroom activities;
Attendance (according to the regulation of student assessment);
Quality of presentations in class and final paper.
Calculation formula of final grade
The final assesment integrates the qualified participation of each student in the classes and the preparation and presentation of a group work.
60% - qualified participation in class, including debates around the themes (20%) and a presentation in class (40%).
40% - preparation of a final paper whose reflection (theoretically grounded) incorporates some of the issues raised during the presentation (this paper should be between 3 and 5 pages).
