Objectives
The general goal of the various MTP Seminars is to deepen the knowledge and skills that allow a proficient and critical use of research in the field of Psychology and related fields, and to plan the development of an individual original research, empirical or theoretical, in a specific field of Psychology.
This course aims to develop the capability to interpret, evaluate and present the findings of the individual research project, specifically to know:
1- How to interpret accurately the research data
2- How to contemplate the ethical standards of research
3- How to evaluate the work developed
4- How to clearly present and clearly discuss the conclusions of the research project, as well the knowledge and arguments that support them
Learning outcomes and competences
At the end of semester, the students should be able:
1- To draw conclusions based on the research developed
2- To present research findings following a logical analytical argument supported by data
3- How to evaluate the work (method and results)
4- To present and discuss a clear and compelling synthesis of research
Working method
Presencial
Pre-requirements (prior knowledge) and co-requirements (common knowledge)
To have been approved in the UCs of Seminar I and Seminar II.
Program
Based on the theoretical frameworks and research methodologies in a specific field of Psychology (defined according to each of the thematic areas of the MTP) the program addresses issues that arise: in the interpretation of data from empirical research; in the presentation of research results following a logical hypothesis supported by the data; in the evaluation of empirical research (method and results); and in the synthesized, perceptible and stimulating exposition and discussion of the research.
Mandatory literature
vários; vários (Books and papers related with the specific topic of the research project)
Teaching methods and learning activities
Contact sessions: tutorial work meetings with the supervisor; presentation of field work/assignments; formative and summative evaluation activities.
Invited experts create opportunity to enhance and diversify the training of the students; students’ sharing of their diverse professional experiences/scientific fields represents an additional gain.
Student autonomous work: literature review; research tasks; written research report.
Evaluation Type
Distributed evaluation without final exam

Eligibility for exams
Students must attend at least 75% of the contact hours, attend selected classes if indicated, meet with the supervisor and submit a written report describing the research design and methods of their project, in which they must achieve the minimum grade of 9. 5 in a scale 0 to 20.
Calculation formula of final grade
The final classification is obtained by the supervisor continuous evaluation (representing 30% of the final classification) and by the oral presentation (representing 70% of the final classification).
