Objectives

- Promote a critical analysis of the processes of knowledge construction in the social and human sciences;

- Deepen theoretical knowledge of the field of psychology, situating the theoretical assumptions and options of their own research in this light;

- Exchange with researchers from various fields, both in psychology and other sciences, in order to fully socialize in the scientific community;

- Discuss the ethical dimension of research in psychology.

Learning outcomes and competences

By the end of the semester, students are expected to show a greater capacity for reflection and competent action on their own research work, including issues of ethical responsibility.

Teaching methods and learning activities

The teaching method is based on two pillars: lectures and critical group discussion. Autonomous research and contact with specialists will serve as the basis for the co-construction of collective knowledge that derives from the group sharing of individual learning.

Students must attend 75% of their classes in order to pass.

Calculation formula of final grade

The assessment of the course involves the evaluation of the various modules through two written essays. In each of them, the grade cannot be lower than 8.0.

Working students and other students with similar specific status may benefit from special assessment schemes, as provided for in the legislation in force, under conditions to be agreed with the teacher in charge.
