Objectives
1. Understand and explain the principles of neuropsychological assessment as well the theoretical models that support neuropsychological assessment.
2. Know tests and batteries for screening and comprehensive neuropsychological assessment for the main neuropsychological deficits and populations (children and adults), with special emphasis on those that provide normative data for European Portuguese.
3. Show expertise skills regarding neuropsychological assessment: preparatory interview (neuropsychological history), screening and examination procedures.
4. Plan a neuropsychological protocol or battery (neuropsychological tests and other examination techniques) according the patient deficits and elaborate a written report (performance description and interpretation) integrating information from neurological or other examinations.
5. Give clinical and rehabilitation guidelines according to the neuropsychological assessment results.

The course will be organized in 3 Thematic Modules (the second and third modules work in an articulated way):

Module 2. Main Evaluation Methods and Techniques

2) Diagnostic Imaging Techniques
3) Preparatory Interview and Neuropsychological Screening
4) Comprehensive Neuropsychological Evaluation (selection of tests and batteries)
5) The Neuropsychological Evaluation Report: Clinical and intervention indications.
Module 3. Practices of Neuropsychological Assessment
1) Assembly of Neuropsychological Evaluation batteries suitable for specific case studies
2) Training of administration and interpretation of neuropsychological tests and batteries

Classes are subject to attendance check. Students who miss more than 25%
Calculation formula of final grade
The final classification results from the arithmetic average of the grades obtained in two tests performed at the end of Module 2 (contents of Module 1 and 2) and at the end of Module 3. Students who do not obtain a final grade equal to or greater than 9.5 in each test will have automatic access to an appeal test, at a date and time to be agreed.

Special assessment (TE, DA, ...)
Student workers and beneficiaries of comparable statutes must take the tests on the same day as the general regime students. A different time may be agreed upon, by reasoned request of the students themselves.

The improvement of the final grade requires a new enrollment and frequency of the course.
