This curricular unit aims to learn to conduct a clinical assessment of children or adolescents, using formal and informal methods, quantitative and qualitative. Students should be able to:
- Know the theoretical models featuring a set of assessment tools and techniques used in the clinical evaluation of children and adolescents
- Select the assessment procedures to use in a specific situation or context of clinical evaluation of children and adolescents
- Undertake the administration, quotation, and interpretation of the results of formal instruments (tests, scales, questionnaires) used in the clinical assessment of children and adolescents
- Use non-formal methods of clinical assessment, mastering the technique of application and attribution of meaning to the results obtained
- Prepare a report of clinical assessment
- Communicate the results of the clinical assessment
- Be aware of the ethics and legal issues of a clinical assessment.
The learning outcomes are:
- mastery of strategies and technical procedures, both formal and informal of clinical assessment of children and adolescents
- mastery of skills to overall integrate the results of a clinical assessment
- mastery of the communication process of the clinical assessment results, both to parents and professionals

Obtaining attendance involves the participation of students in at least 75% of the classes actually taught. It also requires an individual test on the theoretical contents taught (40% weighting, to be evaluated on a scale of 0 to 20, a minimum grade of 10 values is required), conducting a research work involving a methodology of psychological evaluation (30% weighting, to be evaluated on a scale of 0 to 20, a minimum mark of 10 values is required) and a written study that summarizes a process of psychological evaluation (30% weighting, to be evaluated on a scale of 0 To 20, a minimum grade of 10 points is required).

The resource time can be used to perform the theoretical component (40%) for those who have missed, failed the test, or for improvement of classification. It is planned to improve the classification in the test (40%), once, until the time of appeal of the school year after the one in which they obtained approval and in which the curricular unit has scheduled examination.
