Teaching methods and learning activities

The teaching methodology is theoretical and practical. Explanatory methods will be used to present and discuss theories and research in the area of gender and work-family articulation, focusing on its usefulness to the analysis of everyday situations and psychological practice. This will be supported by powerpoints, videos, tedex and other interactive tools (e.g. Kahoot). The practical component is expected to occur mainly through debates, exercises and presentations by the students of scientific articles and papers on different facets of the conceptualization and action in this area.

Assessment will be ongoing without a final exam. The ongoing component may include: students’ engagement in class activities; individual oral presentation/written summary of a recent scientific article; elaboration, oral presentation/written summary of a practical case. Each assessment component has a minimum mark of 8 points. The final mark must be higher than 9.5 out of 20.

The final classification is obtained considering evaluation components outlined above.
The ratings in each of the components and the final classification will be communicated to students on a scale of 0 to 20.

Special assessment (TE, DA, ...)

Working students and students with similar status must take the exams and assessments on the same day as general regime students. Students covered by special arrangements should speak to the teacher at the beginning of the semester.

Classification improvement

Until the time of appeal of the academic year following the one in which the approval was obtained, the student may improve the grade, only once, through the reformulation of the written paper, corresponding to 50% of the final evaluation.
