Objectives

The course “Project Seminars” is aimed at supervising the students in the development of their research project in in a topic within the five main research lines in the field of human sexuality developed by the lecturers/researchers of the doctoral program. The doctoral students should chose a topic as well as a supervisor (taking into consideration the research lines presented within the research methods I course) Hence, students will be able to know the main research problematics in the subject areas presented below as well as to develop a research project to be presented at the end of the semester in front of a jury panel.

Learning outcomes and competences

The programme contents of the course adjust to the objectives proposed for the learning process. The seminars will be developed by different lecturers/researchers of the doctoral program in human sexuality that will supervise the doctoral students in the development of their research projects which will be presented to a jury panel at the end of the semester

Eligibility for exams

Students will present an original research project in one of the lines of research in human sexuality developed by the faculty of UP and defend it in front of a jury panel appointed for each PhD student:

  1. a) written paper with the presentation of the project
  2. b) oral presentation and discussion of the project.

 

Calculation formula of final grade

The following parameters are considered in the evaluation:

. the literature review

. clarification of the research objectives

. support for the research objectives and discussion of its relevance

. discussion of the relevance of the research

. method - appropriateness of the methodological options

. expected results

. plausibility of the project according to the schedule

. clarity and overall quality of writing

. selective and consistent use of references according to APA standards

. presentation and discussion.
