Objectives
The objectives of this CU are:
1. Give the students a multidisciplinary framework that integrates the different subjects related to the protection and promotion of children's rights;
2. Approach the research and theoretical production of different subjects - History, Sociology, Law, Psychology, Education, Health, Social Intervention, Politics, and Media - concerning the protection and promotion of the children's rights;
3. Analyse from an interdisciplinary point of view the relationships between the different subjects involved in the field of Child Protection;
4. Reflect on the social role of the different subjects involved in protecting and promoting children's rights.
5. Reflect on the ethics requirements of research and intervention in the field of Child Protection
Learning outcomes and competences
Students should be able to:
1. Identify the empirical and theoretical contributions of the different subjects related to the protection and promotion of children's rights;
2. Compose the interdisciplinary relationships between these theoretical and empirical contributions;
3.Define the strengths and epistemological needs of each subject involved in the protection and promotion of children's rights and of multi and interdisciplinary approaches.

Eligibility for exams
Students must attend at least 75% of the classes and present a written essay.
Calculation formula of final grade
Final mark will consider the results obtained in:
1. Written essay (90%)
2. Class participation (10%)
Results will be provided on a scale 0-20.
Students must obtain at least 10 marks in order to pass.
Examinations or Special Assignments
Special situations will be considered case by case.
Classification improvement
This is only related to the "written essay" and should be carried out immediately after initial approval.
