This unit intends to increase your knowledge of Sexual Medicine but also to enable you to change your clinical practice with the acquisition of new skills to apply to providing services for patients and to have more confidence in assessing and helping men and women with common sexual concerns. According to the intended learning outcome, the Sexual Physician should be able to manage the patient (male and female) with concerns regarding their sexual development (physical and psychological), diagnose, assess, and manage or refer patients with problems of physical and psychological sexual development, concerns regarding genital morphology, sexual motivation namely low or absent desire, including hypoactive sexual desire disorder, arousal disorders, erectile dysfunction, ejaculatory disorders and concerns regarding orgasm.
The learning process requires a professional approach from Sexual Medicine students, who will be expected to have a deep understanding of the subject topics. It is expected that students will read beyond textbooks in order to make critical use, where appropriate, of original literature and peer-review articles in the related scientific and clinical literature such that they can aspire to an excellent standard in Sexual Medicine practice.

Students should prepare an individual essay with a systematic literature review about one of the topics covered in the course and actively participate in the classes
In order to be approved in this course, the students should:
1. Obtain a grade of 9,5 or superior
2. Complete all components of the evaluation
FINAL GRADE = (written work*0,80 + participation in the classes*0,20)
Students may improve the final grade during the appeal season (for that they should develop a new written work)
