This curricular unit aims to learn to conduct a clinical assessment of children or adolescents, using formal and informal methods, quantitative and qualitative. Students should be able to:
- Know the theoretical models featuring a set of assessment tools and techniques used in the clinical evaluation of children and adolescents
- Select the assessment procedures to use in a specific situation or context of clinical evaluation of children and adolescents
- Undertake the administration, quotation and interpretation of the results of formal instruments (tests, scales, questionnaires) used in the clinical assessment of children and adolescents
- Use non-formal methods of clinical assessment, mastering the technique of application and attribution of meaning to the results obtained
- Prepare a report of clinical assessment
- Communicate the results of the clinical assessment
- Be aware of the ethics and legal issues of a clinical assessment.
The leraning outcomes are:
- mastery of strategies and tecnical procedures, both formal and informal of clinical assessment of children and adolescents
- mastery of skills tooverall integrate the results of a clinical assessment
- mastery of the comunication process of the clinical assessment results, both to parents and to professionals

The teaching methods used are as follows:

3. Tutorial in groups of students - the professor guides the students in the search of clinical assessment tools

5. Peer learning - students participate in the presentation of clinical cases reviewed by classmates.

Considering the operational recommendations for maintaining teaching and non-teaching activities in person, but in the impossibility of guaranteeing the presence of all the teaching activities of the 1st semester of 2020/2021 in the current pandemic context, due to the lack of physical facilities able to accommodate with security the number of students in this cycle of studies, this UC will take place partially at a distance, with synchronous moments, making use of telematic resources.
