This course aims to address the main concepts of Adolescent Psychology and to promote students' awareness of adolescence as a stage of the life span.
At the end of the semester students should be able to:
1.Identify developmental characteristics and patterns of adolescents' psychological functioning.
2. Integrate the differential features of adolescent development into the theoretical models of development.
3. Articulate the diversity of conceptualizations of adolescent psychological development, assuming an integrative and critical perspective.

2. Physical development. Pubertal changes and their psychological implications.
3. Intellectual and cognitive development.
4. Moral development
5. Social development. Peer group and friendship relations.
6. Development of identity. Identity status.
7. Family as a context of development.
8. Risk behaviors in adolescence.
9. Adolescence and school.
10. Adolescence and psychological adjustment.
As this course is part of the first cycle of training in Psychology, structured teaching strategies are preferred, which include:
1. Lectures, under the responsibility of the professor,
2. Movies presentation and debate,
3. Problem solving in the class setting, under the guidance of the professor,
4. Autonomous problem solving as homework.
