Observations

Since the central purpose of this curricular unit is to train the student to intervene in problems related to substance use and other addictive behaviors, initially, a body of knowledge about basic concepts and specifics of the intervention in addictive behaviors is transmited, using preferably exposure classes and discussions on the contents exposed. In general, this curricular unit is intended that the student is able to plan, design and implement intervention approaches in the areas of prevention, risk reduction and treatment in addictive behaviors. To achieve these goals, this curricular unit seeks to promote the acquisition of skills and knowledge at these different levels of intervention. The practical dimension, centered on the acquisition of skills, is facilitated by the adoption of active methods such as group work, analysis and discussion of didactic videos and role-play situations in class.
