Objectives

- To supervise the conduction of an original empirical or non-empirical research, in the domain of Psychology

- To promote the search, critical analysis and systematization of relevant information about the theoretical and methodological frameworks in a specific domain of Psychology, in order to respond to an investigation question

- To promote the elaboration of a research design, using the methodologies of data gathering and processing that are relevant for the objectives of the research

- To develop the capacity to analyze and to discuss with rigor the results of the research, knowing its potentialities and limits.

Learning outcomes and competences

At the end of the semester, students should be able to:

. systemize the investigations in a particular field

. substantiate the goals of their study in a theoretical and / or empirical framework

. describe the design of the research carried out and the method used

Teaching methods and learning activities

The teaching methodology is based on tutorial guidance, and discussions of the research projects of the students.

The tutorial guidance goes along with the autonomous work conducted by students (search and review of literature, written essays and planning of the research).

 

The evaluation is distributed throughout the semester; students must submit the results of the works that will enable them to present the dissertation in the last semester of the course. It also includes a final report of approximately 15 pages that describes the progress of the work.
