Eligibility for exams
Classes are subject to regular attendance.
With the exception of special cases contemplated in the law, students that miss over 25% of the total predicted classes will not obtain the required Frequency at the UC.
Calculation formula of final grade
The students’ final evaluation at the UC is the result of the following components:
a. Final exam (50% of the final grade);
b. Small group work:
- Students' participation in support tutorial classes (10%);
- Oral presentations (15%);
- Paper (25%).
To be approved, the student must achieve a minimum score of 10 values in the discipline (following nº 2, Article 5 of the "Evaluation Regulations in FPCEUP").
Examinations or Special Assignments
Consult “Avaliação Especial” (Special evaluation)
Special assessment (TE, DA, ...)
Students that, by law, aren’t obligated to attend to a minimum number of classes of the UC, should accomplish the two evaluation components required in the UC: Final exam and Small group work. To do so, they should contact the teacher in the BEGINNING of the semester.
Classification improvement
Students can require an improvement exam once, in one of the following evaluations periods immediately after the period in which they got their approval at the Curricular Unit (CU) and once the UC predicts an evaluation period (following nº 1, Article 11 of the Evaluation Regulations in FPCEUP).
Improving the final classification requires a new final exam.
