Students' participation in debates and in assignments will be considered under criteria to be presented, discussed and made explicit with the students.

-- Dossiers of produced written works
The evaluation will be conducted through analysing the written materials produced by students individually and in groups. If and when the lecturer finds it convenient, students' performance in public or private presentations and discussions of the produced work can be weighed in the evaluation.

Calculation formula of final grade

Participation - 25%
Dossiers of produced written works - 75%

Examinations or Special Assignments

See special evaluation procedures.

Special assessment (TE, DA, ...)

Students entitled to be evaluated through special procedures (working students, leaders of associations, competition athletes, etc.) because they can not attend class regularly, and can consequently not be evaluated regarding their 'participation' (see 'Qualification Requirements'), should contact their lecturer (if necessary using e-mail) before the second class of the semester so that an alternative plan can be defined. If that does not happen they will be penalized in their evaluation, at least on the item regarding participation.

Classification improvement

Students can request an opportunity for improving their classification during the periods defined in nr 1 of article 11 of the Deliberation nr 1536/2005 (D.R. – II Série, nº225 de 23.11.05). Students can ask for that opportunity via requesting a revision of the written materials in their dossier - the lecturer will be the one deciding which materials should be revised. Students must then fulfill one of the following alternatives (the decision regarding which alternative is the lecturer's): (i) revise the produced materials and present them again in an oral exam; (ii) revise the produced materials without having to present them in an oral exam.
Any student can request a revision of his/her evaluation by presenting an appeal to that effect. Should the student do so, the lecturer must follow the legally established procedures.
