Objectives

At the end of the semester students should be able to:
. Apply techniques to establish an empathetic, non-judgmental relationship when working with children
. Deepening communication techniques that facilitate child self-expression in the context of an interview
. Formulate simple, precise and developmental-appropriated open-ended questions
. Apply semi-structured interviews with children to collect information
. Apply appropriate distance strategies depending on the level of the child proximal development

Eligibility for exams

Students should be present in at least 75% of classes and performe two group projects.

Calculation formula of final grade

The final grade is based on the following classification elements:
1. Conduction of a semi-structured interview to a child or adolescent with the aim of gathering information (35%)
2. Implementation of a situation of interaction with children to promote its development (35%)
3. Individual critical reflection (20%)
4. Participation, individual exercises and involvement in classroom activities (10%).

Examinations or Special Assignments

Any situation involving a special assessment should be presented by students and reviewed by professors at the beginning of the semester.

Classification improvement

Taking into account the characteristics of the evaluation components of this course, the improvement of the final grade is not considered.
