Objectives

The purpose of the seminar is to provide the student with basic research skills in the area health psychology by developing an empirical study focused on a specific topic. The topic and design of the empirical study is built around the nature of the practicum experience of the student.

Program

The seminar includes two distinct activities: 1.) The initial part of the seminar is designed to introduce students to methodological issues in the field of health psychology. It includes didactic presentations on principles and general guidelines to undertake a field research. Quantitative methods in health psychology research are presented. (e.g. Coorte Studies; the importance of risk factor etc.).2.) Discussions centered around the specific research projects of the students, based on its theoretical foundations and methodological issues;
