Abstract (EN):
Psychological contracts are an issue that has come to be widely discussed in the social and business sciences in recent decades. The present article mobilises the concept to study internships at law firms, thereby employing the concept in an area in which it had not yet been used and simultaneously helping to solidify and make it more operable. Semi-structured interviews of legal interns revealed that psychological contracts formed part of their professional relationships with their bosses. The author discusses the specific formats these transactional and balanced psychological contracts take in internships in the legal field in Portugal.
