Using as case studies the Sá da Bandeira Street (as a paradigm), and other nearby streets as well as their buildings, the aim is to reveal and underline inner formal associations between the transformation of some streets' morphological character and the emergence, during the 1st half of the 20th century, of a new building type: the collective housing.
