Abstract (EN): The study described herein is concerned with brick faced retaining walls with a set of short geotextile sheets extended from the rear face of the wall into the backfill at appropriate vertical spacing. Limit Equilibrium Methods are of widespread use for retaining walls design although do not provide information on the wall deformation level. This paper describes the development of a very simple method to predict the face deformations of the brick faced retaining walls reinforced with geotextiles. Nevertheless the simplicity of the model it shows to be very versatile and the results are well compared with previous laboratory measurements. © Civil-Comp Press, 2009.
