The SNO doesn’t have its own economic resources, but it can direct the students to the recommended entities and services.

The SNO, when necessary, can ensure the communication between students and the Social Action Services of the University of Porto (SASUP). However, it is up to the students to know the deadlines and to prepare rigorously the application(s) for the scholarship and/or accommodation.

• Due to the incomes presented by the student, he/she may not be covered by the criteria for awarding the scholarship in accordance with the Scholarships Regulations.
• Due to the lack of documents in the application. It is recommended that the student carefully reads the instructions on the webpage.
• Due to the lack or delay of payments to the Social Security.
• Due to not having sufficient academic results.

Yes, you can apply and the scholarship will be (or not) awarded. Your application will be analyzed in accordance with the criteria defined by the Scholarships Regulations.

The student must be aware of the notification that appears on his/her profile at SIGARRA, as there may be some irregularity or anomaly in the application (e.g., documents that have not been submitted). The student must check his/her inbox frequently, as results of the application will be sent to the email address indicated in the application form.

When a student applies for the first time to FPCEUP (at DGES webpage), he/she must also prepare the scholarship and accommodation application (if he/she meets the conditions specified in the Scholarship Regulation).
If the student is already attending a higher education course, he/she must be aware of the deadlines of the application by consulting DGES website.
Regarding the accommodation, students who need to live in Porto must apply online at the SASUP website, using the credentials (username and password) provided by FPCEUP to login at SIGARRA. Students with special needs, in order to apply for accommodation, must inform their intention to SASUP in advance, especially if room adaptations are required.

Yes, the application will be analyzed in accordance with the Scholarship Regulation.

Yes, for medical and psychological/psychiatric support you can resort to SASUP and your appointments will be free. The exceptions are the dental appointments – which are held at the Faculty of Dental Medicine of the University of Porto (prices from ¤ 11,00) and the psychological appointments given at the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences (¤ 30,00 to external students and ¤ 5,00 for internal students).

FPCEUP doesn’t have funds for this type of student support. However a set of measures has been created to help the most needed students, for example a “staff database” that students can use to overcome some of their immediate difficulties. This project includes the provision of remunerated services in events and/or activities, regular or occasional - for example, conference secretary, services in research centers, transcript of interviews.
