[ENGLISH VERSION] Sara Isabel Magalhães, PhD.
Presently she is a Full-time Researcher at the CPUP - Centre of Psychology for University of Porto.
Before that, she was a Post-Doctoral Researcher (SFRH/BPD/93654/2013) at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Porto, Portugal. During that time, she was also visiting researcher at CECS – University of Minho, Portugal, and at the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Seville, Spain.
She completed her PhD in Educational Psychology (2007-2011) from University of Minho with the dissertation: "How to become a Ragazza. Discourses of sexuality in a teenage girls' magazine", funded by a PhD Scholarship from FCT – Portuguese Science and Technology Foundation (SFRH/BD/43260/2008).
She has participated in several academic (FCT) and social (POPH/QREN/FSE/CIG) funded research projects and been part of training actions (CIG) aimed at empowering strategic publics from different areas of expertise on Gender Equality.
Her main research interest combines the dimensions of ageing and sexuality through the lens of feminist and gender studies, critical social psychology, feminist media studies, and intersectionality theory.
Feminist Activist: member of the board of the Portuguese Association on Women Studies (APEM), takes part in the regional core of UMAR in Braga, and Gentopia – Association for Diversity and Gender Equality.
