2018/2019: 160,0
2017/2018: 161,5

– Holders of Other University Degree’s contest: applying online at FPCEUP’s webpage
– National University Access contest.
Applicants covered by the international student status (Decree-Law No. 36/2014, of 10th March) cannot apply these ways.

SApplicants over 23 years old can register at the Academic Office to do the special examinations, designed to assess the ability to attend Higher Education in accordance with Decree-Law No. 64/2006 of 21st March (the examination results must be within their period of validity).

Candidates who are holders of a secondary education diploma or legally equivalent qualification (and even holders of Higher Education Degree’s) are admitted, but only if they have not done any Portuguese final exams of secondary education on that same school year.

Applicants covered by the international student status (Decree-Law No. 36/2014, of 10th March) cannot apply this way.

The registration for these special examinations is held in May and includes the following components, carried out in the following order:
– Proof of knowledge assessment (written exam);
– Assessment of the candidate's academic and professional curriculum;
– Evaluation of the motivations of the candidate through an interview.

The change of the ‘pair institution/course’ is the act in which a student registers in a different institution/course than the one in which he/she was registered in previous school years. The change of the ‘pair institution/course’ can take place with or without interruption of the student’s enrolement in an institution of higher education.
Applicants covered by the international student status (Decree-Law No. 36/2014, of 10th March) cannot apply this way.

You can apply for the contest of ‘change of the pair institution/course’. Each year, the vacancies, the application deadline and the ranking criteria are discussed and approved.
This information is available at FPCEUP’s applications webpage.

Candidates that apply to the contest of ‘change of the pair institution/course’ (and others) often want to know in advance the equivalences/creditation of previous training that they may get at MIPSI. However, it is not possible to get this information in advance. The creditation process of the previous training only takes place after the enrolment of the candidate as a student.

1. students who only wish to attend MIPSI for one semester or one academic year: apply under mobility programs;

b) Perform the Portuguese final exams of secondary education corresponding to the exams required for admission (please check question 1).

For students who hold a foreign Secondary School Leaving Certificate equivalent to the Portuguese secondary education, the admitance exams can be replaced by final exams of those courses. Those final exams must meet the following conditions:
– National recognition – final exams required nationally for admission to higher education in this country. The foreign final exams can be used for a similar period to the one set for the Portuguese final exams of secondary education - in the same year of its completion and in the following two years.
– To be homologous of the Portuguese admission exams. Although they might have different names, final exams are considered homologous when they have the same level and similar goals and contents of the admitance exams students wish to replace.
The listing of foreign final exams considered homologous of Portuguese entrance exams is disclosed in May 31 of the year preceding the year of the application. The replacement of the admitance exams is required at the Direção-Geral do Ensino Superior.
