Objectives

It is intended that students develop knowledge and acquire competencies necessary for the understanding, explanation and prediction of human behavior in organizations. Specifically, it is intended that students build knowledge up to date on thematic approached and develop skills that enable them to design and develop a research or an intervention project under the Organizational Behavior.

Learning outcomes and competences

At the end of the frequency of this course, students must:
1. Show knowledge about:

  • the organizational phenomena and how they are influenced and influence the psychological factors and processes related to individual and group behavior, and,
  • on the foundations of individual, group and organizational behavior;

2. Develop and demonstrate the following competencies in organizational behavior research or intervention:

  • Identification of issues relevant to research / intervention;
  • To design and operationalize a research project;
  • To design a proposal for intervention in a specific field of Organizational Behavior.

Eligibility for exams

Classes are subject to verification of attendance.
Safeguarding the special cases covered by the law, students who miss more than 25% of classes provided will not get approval in the course (according to Regulation Assessment of students FPCEUP - Article 9A, point 2.).

Calculation formula of final grade

The final grade results of the mark obtained in the following assessment components:
a) Final exam (50%) - test with multiple choice and short development questions and,
b) Group work (50%):
   i) Assessment of student participation in the meetings of tutorial support (10%);
   ii) Evaluation of oral presentations (15%);
   iii) evaluation of written report (25%).
 
To obtain approval in the course, the student have to:
1) obtain a final mark of 8 values in each of the assessment components and,
2) obtain a final mark of 10 values (according to point 2, Article 4 of Regulation Assessment of students FPCEUP).

Special assessment (TE, DA, ...)

Students who by law are exempted from verification of the conditions of attendance to classes, should perform the two assessment components previously defined. For this, they should contact at the BEGINNING of the semester (NEVER after 2nd class) the professor.

Classification improvement




  • It is possible to improve the exam classification once, until the recourse time of the academic year subsequent to the one in which they obtained approval and in which the curricular unit is scheduled examination. (Article 10, point 1.a) of the General Regulation for the evaluation of UP students).

  • In these situations the classification obtained in the "group work" component remains valid.

  • The final classification in the curricular unit is the highest, between the one that had been obtained initially and the one that results from the improvement of classification made. (Article 10, point 3 of the General Regulation for the evaluation of UP students).
