Objectives

The objectives of the CU are focused in the recognition of the potentiality of theatre in the various contexts where the educational process occurs, namely:

- develop knowledge and skills about theatre based educative intervention methodologies,

- provide empirical experiences in methods of expression and sublimation in the theatrical context,

- stimulate reflection about the utility of these methods in formal, non formal and informal educative contexts.

Learning outcomes and competences

Theatre is a bodily based art form. As such, an educative process that aims to unravel the understanding of its conditions and potentialities will have to depart from a strong experiential basis, from which reflexive components will be devised. We will thus articulate intra and interpersonal dimensions in the process of constructing knowledge.

Beyond the expectation of self and hetero knowledge development, self-esteem, interpersonal comunicationn skills and creativity, passible of application in educational contexts; the most important expected result in terms of acquired skills is the capacity of the student in being able to recognitise himself as a generator of contents in its own apprenticeship.

Working method

Presencial

Program

The Syllabus proposes a broadened understanding of the theatrical theme in its various aspects, in which a strong experiential exploration will sustain the Theoretical research:

- Art whilst context of personal and social construction of meanings.

- Theatre whilst language and its potential in educative, social and community intervention processes. Forms of theatrical expression in educative and communitary contexts.

- The body whilst locus of expressive transformation.

Teaching methods and learning activities

The adopted metholology will be divided into:

- Hours of contact: Exposition, Debate, Group dinamics and Tutorial orientation.

- Autonomous work: Bibliographic research, Writing, and experiential work.

The teaching methodologies are based in the equilibrium between the bibliographic research; the presentation and debate of concepts; and the experiencing of a process of theatrical creation based in the participants’ personal experiences as LCE students.

During the semester the participants will be invited to register their personal reflections in a diary (logbook) that must be accompanied by a final theoretical integration report about the experiencing of the process – including the results of the bibliographic research. The result of the theatrical creation process will be presented by the group in the end of the semester.
