Objectives

It is intended that students: 1. Know the key elements that define human development and the importance of the scientific study of that development; 2. Identify processual and structural factors that influence human development; 3. Acquire a understanding of patterns of psychological functioning and the major developmental characteristics troghout the life cycle; 4. Be able to identify behaviors and skills that are considered as milestones of human development; 5. Develop an integrative and critical perspective regarding the programmatic contents of the course.

Eligibility for exams

Required. Students should be present in at least 75% of the classes.

Calculation formula of final grade

The final classification of the student is calculated using the following components and features: 1. Individual work which envolves the elaboration of a portfolio. The portfolio includes the results of a set of tasks and activities suggested and carried out under this curricular unit. The classification obtained in the portfolio concerns to 85% (17 values) of the final classification.2. Participation and involvement in the activities and exercises undertaken in class. The classification obtained in this component of evaluation corresponds to 15% (3 values) of the final grade.

Any situation involving a special assessment should be presented by students and reviewed by professors at the beginning of the semester.

Classification improvement
