Objectives

General aims: to motivate students to the wide and complex educational issues

Teaching methods and learning activities

Preliminary presentation by the professor as an introduction to the several topics.
Brief presentations led by students about the various topics, followed by discussion.

Evaluation Type

Distributed evaluation with final exam

Eligibility for exams

Minimum attendance in classroom according to law (75%).
Distributed Assessment consisting of:

1) Final evaluation (exam) and
2) Continuous evaluation including:
a) a brief presentation in class of a chapter or subchapter of reference books with discussion:
Educational Psychology (vols 1 and 2) and Educational Psychology – complementary topics;
b) written work (only with a brief theoretical or empirical exercise) about some of the topics learned in class or other complementary topic, with previous approval by the lecturer.

Each of the three items (the final written test, oral and written work) worths approximately one third of the final grade.

Points 1) and 2a) are required. Item 2b) is optional. This means that for students who don’t intend to make the written work, the exam will worth two thirds of the total.

At any case the minimum classification in the final exam cannot be less than 8, as well as in the other components of assessment.

All students will be assessed by the same way.
