Objectives

Objectivos / Course goals
At the end of the course, students should be able to: (1) Understand and know basic and complex learning mechanisms; (2) Understand and describe the various learning types and major theories and models; (3) Read, know and understand some of the major literature references and communicate information about this area; (4) Apply knowledge acquired to practical situations; (5) Attend as subjects in small experiments and demonstrations in order to integrate information and skills.

Teaching methods and learning activities

Métodos de ensino / Teaching methods
Program contents are exposed and supported with ppt, short videos, demonstrations and suitable class discussions. Students are occasionally invited to participate on memory experiments and tests. Individual tuition can be provided on Mondays from 9h00-11h00.

It is highly recommend attending all classes, but it is not compulsory due to logistic reasons to register student’s presence.
Only by a final written examination. Students must obtain at least 10 in 20 to be approved.

Book chapters and PPTs; 3.Compulsory and optional paper readings; 4.Urgent notices; 5.Types of exam questions, grades and observations; 6. Extra notes.
