Resumo (PT): Para uma história do jornalismo em Portugal — III insere-se no âmbito do projeto com o mesmo título, iniciado em 2019, financiado pela FCT. Os 13 capítulos traduzem, parcialmente, os resultados da III Conferência Internacional — História do Jornalismo em Portugal, organizada pelo ICNOVA, no âmbito do referido projeto, em setembro de 2021, em Lisboa. Dividido em cinco partes, apresenta investigação desenvolvida em torno dos temas da historiografia do jornalismo, história da imprensa e do seu discurso, história do jornalismo iconográfico, história do jornalismo televisivo e história do jornalismo português no mundo. Com sede maioritariamente em Portugal, inclui também um texto sobre jornais em português publicados no Havai. Do século XVII ao século XXI, aborda temas que se estendem da periodização da história do jornalismo em Portugal ao jornalismo de guerra, passando pelo jornalismo musical, pelo telejornalismo, pelo jornalismo iconográfico e por múltiplos estudos de caso centrados no discurso jornalístico. Este livro contribui, assim, para uma melhor compreensão de tendências e eventos históricos, envolvendo condições jurídicas, económicas, políticas, profissionais e culturais que influenciaram a produção e circulação de conteúdos jornalísticos e a sua receção e, assim, também a própria história de Portugal, na qual o jornalismo foi uma força nos últimos quatrocentos anos.

Abstract (EN): Towards a History of Portuguese Journalism volume III is part of the project with the same title, started in 2019, financed by FCT. The 13 chapters partially translate the results of the III International Conference — History of Journalism in Portugal, organized by ICNOVA, within the scope of the aforementioned project, in September 2021, in Lisbon. Divided into five parts, it presents research developed around the themes of the historiography of journalism, history of the press and its discourse, history of iconographic journalism, history of television journalism, and history of Portuguese journalism in the world. Mostly based in Portugal, it also includes a text on Portuguese language newspapers published in Hawaii. From the 17th century to the 21st century, it covers topics ranging from the periodization of the history of journalism in Portugal to war journalism, musical journalism, television journalism, iconographic journalism, and multiple case studies focusing on journalistic discourse. This book thus contributes to a better understanding of historical trends and events, involving legal, economic, political, professional and cultural conditions that influenced the production and circulation of journalistic content and its reception and, thus, also the history of Portugal itself, in which journalism has been a force for the last four hundred years.
