Resumo (PT): As relações histórico-culturais e afetivas entre Brasil e Portugal são bem mais complexas do que aparentam. São dois povos unidos não somente pela ancestralidade luso-brasileira, mas por uma história em comum, pela cultura e pela língua portuguesa, um elo que nunca se perderá. Este documento traz o esboço de uma investigação cujo foco está na análise comparativa das representações simbólicas sobre o Brasil utilizadas em quatro jornais online portugueses: Diário de Notícias, Público, Correio da Manhã e Jornal de Notícias. A análise se concentrará nas notícias produzidas durante todo o ano de 2016, período de realização das Olimpíadas, do impeachment da ex-Presidente da República, bem como de crises políticas e económica. O estudo pretende investigar quais as representações/imagens sobre o Brasil foram propagadas pelos quatro periódicos, por meio de suas produções noticiosas publicadas em suas versões online; com foco nas práticas discursivas e rotinas jornalísticas utilizadas pelos jornais na construção da notícia sobre o Brasil. A investigação proposta se trata de uma pesquisa histórico-descritiva, de mJtodo hipotético-dedutivo, com abordagem de métodos mistos: qualitativa-quantitativa.

Abstract (EN): The historical-cultural and affective relations between Brazil and Portugal are much more complex than they seem. They are two peoples united not only by LusoBrazilian ancestry, but by a common history, by the culture and the Portuguese language, a link that will never be lost. This document presents the outline of an investigation that focuses on the comparative analysis of the symbolic representations about Brazil used in four Portuguese online newspapers: Diário de Notícias, Público, Correio da Manhã and Jornal de Notícias. The analysis will focus on the news produced throughout the year 2016, the period of the Olympics, the impeachment of the former President of the Republic, as well the political and economic crises. The study intends to investigate which representations / images on Brazil were propagated by the four newspapers, through their news productions published in their online versions; focusing on the discursive practices and journalistic routines used by the newspapers in the construction of news about Brazil.
