Learning outcomes and competences

Acquisition of knowledge and experience in the elaboration of treatment hypotheses in oral rehabilitation based on the data collected and the application of current scientific and technical knowledge, namely in the following aspects: TEACHING AND COMMUNICATION: Knowledge of responsibilities as a professional model. Communication skills. Sensitive attitudes when communicating with patients. CLINICAL MANAGEMENT: Knowledge of clinical guidelines; Risk assessment. Adequate communication skills; Critical evaluation; Patient data; Surveys; Standard of professional and personal attitudes; Evaluation of clinical practices and procedures. INTERDISCIPLINARITY OF ORAL REHABILITATION: Understand the importance and implications of the interrelationship between Prosthodontics and other clinical disciplines. IMPLANT SURGERY AND BIOMATERIALS: Know: the contraindications, indications and benefits of using implants and biomaterials; the principles of disease prevention related to implant structures; the criteria of success and failure and biological implications of the use of implants; surgical techniques for implant placement. FAILURES AND COMPLICATIONS IN ORAL REHABILITATION: Understand the main causes of failures and complications, as well as the most appropriate form of resolution. DEEP UNDERSTANDING OF SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE IN DENTAL PROSTHESIS

1. TEACHING AND COMMUNICATION Communicate effectively both orally and in writing with colleagues, professionals, employees, patients and the public; Develop and present instructional sessions; Recognize the role of both verbal and non-verbal aspects of communication. MANAGEMENT AND ADMINISTRATION Planning the management of a dental clinic; Patient complaints; Dealing with team members; Managing time and strategies to deal with stress; Employment and health and safety regulations at work; Good practices in management and administration; according to the law on equality and diversity. 2.1. CLINICAL MANAGEMENT Principles of clinical and audit effectiveness; Needs assessments based on epidemiological research and systematic reviews; Review and evaluation processes; Critical / adverse incident reports and how this process can improve clinical care; Medico-legal responsibilities of the dentist, in particular those related to Dental Prosthesis; Quality assurance in the provision of clinical care; Access for minority groups; Administration of medical records. INTERDISCIPLINARITY OF ORAL REHABILITATION Importance and implications of the interrelation between Dental Prosthesis and other curricular units. IMPLANT SURGERY AND BIOMATERIALS: Formulation of treatment plans for implant prosthesis, including surgical and radiographic guides as aids in planning the number, position and angulation of implant structures. Surgical techniques for placing implant structures and biomaterials. Monitoring and evaluation of the implantation rehabilitation. FAILURES AND COMPLICATIONS IN ORAL REHABILITATION Have a thorough understanding of the main causes of failures and complications, as well as the most appropriate way to resolve them. 6. DEEP UNDERSTANDING OF SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE IN DENTAL PROSTHESIS
