Objectives
The general aims of the course of Orthodontic Sciences II provide the following core competencies :
- Ensure the appropriate knowledge of the basic science of orthodontics to allow recognize deviations from normal dentition and craniofacial growth;
- Develop knowledge on issues related to the malocclusion and biological bases of tooth movement and orthopedic dentofacial;
- Being able to diagnose dentition abnormalities , craniofacial structures and functional conditions.
Learning outcomes and competences
The contents are oriented in the sense that at the end of the course the student is the holder of the knowledge, skills and competencies that enable to recognize deviations from the normal development of the dentition and craniofacial growth, relate malocclusion and biological bases of tooth movement and orthopedic dentofacial and be able to diagnose dentition abnormalities , craniofacial structures and functional conditions. It seeks to create theoretical basis that built the progressivity of scientific and clinical knowledge in the field of orthodontics specialty, contributing to a scientifically more effective practice.

Teaching methods and learning activities
Theoretical learning - 1 weekly class of 60 minutes. Considerations on the topic of the lesson, using appropriate audiovisual material. Theoretical-practical learning - conducting interactive seminars - 1 weekly TP class of 60 minutes. Discussion of pertinent questions on the theme of the lecture.
