Description:	The Pedagogical Council, in accordance with Article 30(1) of the FEP Statutes, has 16 members. They are equally divided between representatives of the teaching or research staff and of the students, with the following distribution: Eight teachers or researchers; Four student representatives from the first cycles of studies; Four student representatives from the second and third cycles of studies. In accordance with Article 30(4) and (5) of the FEP Statutes, the Pedagogical Council has a President and a Vice-President, both of whom are representatives of the teaching or research staff. The electoral regulations, in accordance with Article 68(2) of the FEP Statutes, are approved by the Executive Council. The term of office is 4 years for teachers or researchers, and 2 years for students, in accordance with Article 63(1) of the FEP Statutes.

The Pedagogical Council, in accordance with Article 31 of the FEP Statutes, is responsible for:

Drawing up and approving its regulations;
Giving its opinion on the pedagogical guidelines and teaching and assessment methods in use at FEP;
Promoting regular surveys of FEP's pedagogical performance and their analysis and dissemination;
Promoting pedagogical performance evaluations of FEP teachers, both by the teachers themselves and by students, as well as their analysis and dissemination;
Hearing complaints about pedagogical failures and proposing any measures deemed necessary;
Approving regulations for assessing student achievement;
Giving its opinion on expiration and precedence regimes;
Giving its opinion, within the scope of its competences, on the creation of degree courses in which FEP participates and on the respective study plans;
Deciding on the establishment of school awards;
Drawing up and proposing FEP's teaching and assessment calendars to the Director;
Fulfilling any other duties assigned to it by law, by the Statutes of the University of Porto and by these Statutes.

Composition

The Pedagogical Council, in accordance with Article 30(1) of the FEP Statutes, has 16 members. They are equally divided between representatives of the teaching or research staff and of the students, with the following distribution:

In accordance with Article 30(4) and (5) of the FEP Statutes, the Pedagogical Council has a President and a Vice-President, both of whom are representatives of the teaching or research staff.
