Registration / Enrolment
Enrolment in any cycle of study or continuing education course at FEP is done on-line, using the platform available on FEP's website.
At the time of registration/enrolment, or of enrolment renewal, the student must:
- Select their desired programme load (full-time or part-time);
A part-time student is one who enrols in a maximum of 37.5 annual ECTS (excluding enrolment in curricular units whose ECTS exceed that number but cannot be divided). Choosing the full-time regime, the student may enrol in a maximum of 75 ECTS per academic year (42 ECTS per semester). However, enrolment in the first year for the first time is limited to 60 and 30 ECTS, respectively.

- Select the curricular units you wish to enrol in, respecting the annual and per semester ECTS limits that correspond to your chosen attendance regime;
- Request, if you fulfil the eligibility conditions and wish to do so:
- U.Porto student-worker status;
- Special educational needs status;
- Accreditation of previous training and professional experience;
- If applicable, provide proof that you have submitted scholarship applications to the responsible entities (DGES or FCT);
- Pay the school insurance fee;
The school insurance fee must be paid all at once at the time of registration/enrolment.
- If enrolling in a 3rd cycle programme of study, pay the registration fee;
At the time of registration/enrolment, students enrolling for the first time in the 1st year of a doctoral course must pay the respective registration fee.
- Pay tuition fees according to your selected payment plan.
Tuition for each academic year, in the case of 1st and 2nd cycle programmes, must be paid all at once at the time of registration/enrolment or in ten monthly payments, the first being owed at the time of registration/enrolment and the remaining due monthly, before the last day of each of the months following the start of the academic year. In the case of 3rd cycle programmes, tuition must be paid all at once at the time of registration/enrolment or in four divided payments, the first being due at the time of registration/enrolment and the remaining three on or before the following 31 January, 31 March and 30 June.

Students should request their student card at the time of registration/enrolment. The card is essential for accessing the various services that FEP offers. The request of the card is done on your personal page on Sigarra in the option "U.PORTO card". You can find more information about the associated benefits here.
Cancellation of Registration/Enrolment at student's request
Cancellation of registration/enrolment is only valid if requested directly with FEP's Academic Services using the request form available on the student's personal page, on FEP's Information System.
It should be noted that the cancellation of registration/enrolment at the student's request does not waive payment of remaining tuition due until the end of the current month, for all requests presented during the first semester; requests presented after the end of the first semester require payment of the full annual tuition.
