Objectives

- to think critically organization and change;
- to analyse the contexts of organizational change, how it emerges and the different approaches to its implementation;
- to explore the limitations of managerialist approaches towards change and the need to consider a process view;
- to analyse the role of the manager as a leader of change processes.

 

Learning outcomes and competences


Students are expected to develop a conceptual and methodological framework to analyse organizational change processes, and to be able to propose intervention policies and practices.

Eligibility for exams

A student cannot miss more than 25% of the lectures (2 out of 7 lectures) in order to be considered for the distributed assessment mode. Otherwise, the student will have to take the final exam.

Calculation formula of final grade


Test 1 (15%) + Group assignment (25%) + Exam (60%)

(alternatively, by final exam = 100%)

Examinations or Special Assignments

Test 1 is a multiple choice test (20 questions in 30') on points 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the programme.
Group assignment (3-4 students) involves case analysis, the assessment being made on the basis of the report and presentation by each group.
Test 2 will take place on the date of the exam (época normal) and involves essay questions on points 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 of the programme. The minimum mark in this test is 7/20.

A student will be formally linked to the distributed assessment mode by handing out the group assignment report.
