Personal Presentation

In 1996, after a degree in Civil Engineering, at the Oporto University, I started my professional career in the second largest bulk water supplier in Portugal and a Master degree in Structural Engineering, which allowed me to have my thesis awarded and the opportunity of becoming a teacher in that University.

The responsibilities rapidly evolved to project management, involving several projects related to the design and construction of a variety of infrastructures. I later accepted (2001) the challenge of leading a project to implement an integrated quality, environmental and health and safety management system that was the first, in the Portuguese water sector, to obtain a simultaneous certification in those three international management standards.

In 2005, I did my MBA at the EGP – UPBS Oporto Business School.

As a side activity, I went back to teaching in the Oporto University but this time in Environmental Economics and Management.

After working in the construction sector for a few years, I went back to a water utility assuming, this time, responsibilities as General Manager at Águas de Gondomar (76 000 costumers), from 2009 to 2011, and Águas de Cascais (112 000 costumers), since 2011 until 2016.

I´m now CEO of Indaqua a company integrated in Miya´s group that holds concessions and participations of water utilities that serves 750 thousand consumers.
