Abstract (EN): Haplotypic analysis of 3 Y chromosome biallelic markers (YAP, SRY8299 and sY81) was conducted in four Western Iberia populations (North, Central and South Portugal and Galicia). For haplogroup 21, an increasing frequency gradient from North to South was detected, following the variation pattern registered throughout Europe. No signs of recent sub-Saharan genetic contributions in Iberia were observed, suggesting that in the last few centuries interbreeding with African slaves, brought to the region after the Portuguese and Spanish discoveries, must have been very restricted.
