Abstract (EN): Portugal has recently introduced practices of adult education and training that rest in processes of recognition and validation of acquired knowledge. This is the starting point for our study which aims at understanding the relationships between the trainers' actions and the context where their work activity is produced. The analysis of these trainers' work enables us to reveal the challenges posed to the activity when it comes to face conflicting requests such as, on the one hand, the need to obey a political project of mass certification and, on the other hand, the respect for a methodology, its specificities, and the particularities of the adult undergoing training.
