Abstract (EN): In this paper, the monitoring system installed in the new footbridge over the Mondego River in Coimbra is described. This system was conceived to monitor the bridge during the construction and during the service stage. The numerical model used to obtain refined structural data allowing the interpretation of the experimental measurements and to help in the decision making process during the assembly of the bridge steelwork sets and during the removal of the propping system is also described. Finally some results are presented.
