Abstract (EN): Although we are one of the Earth's newest species, humans have an unprecedented ability to reproduce and modify our environment. We have generally benefited in the short term - with longer life spans, lower infant mortality, and reduced violence - but the legacy costs of technology - such as pollution, habitat destruction, and human displacement - are an ecological burden that has yet to be shouldered.
