Abstract (EN): Analytical techniques are extensively used to assess quality control. Consequently, electroanalytical techniques represent an interesting option for process analysis, particularly for medical diagnosis and environmental monitoring. The main advantages of these techniques are their high sensitivity and accuracy, large linear dynamic range of response, low detection limits, short time of analysis, reduced cost of instrumentation and simple maintenance. Besides that, they have been proposed for the analysis of complex samples without sample pre-treatment procedures. Electrochemical methods can be divided into various groups wherein a correlation between the electrical parameter measured and the analyte concentration is used for chemical analysis. In this article, the theoretical aspects of the most used electroanalytical techniques are presented as well as some of their applications in process analysis. Moreover, the incorporation of nanomaterials into electrochemical sensors appears to provide an attractive approach towards the miniaturization and improvement of their analytical performance.
