Abstract (EN): In this paper we seek to understand the emergence of youth culture in Portugal. We will focus on punk, which is particularly symbolic of the openness, cosmopolitanism, modernity and aesthetics which have continued to mark Portuguese society. Moreover, we will narrow our scope to the female experience, trying to give an adequate development of the gender differences and similarities in punk.
