Abstract (EN): The articles in this volume are based on the presentations of the national teams in the project,Teaching History for a Europe in Common (THIEC), in Helsinki, September 26¿28, 2012. The first research seminar of the project THIEC took place in Caen, in November 2011. It was supported financially by the Université de Caen/IUFM Basse-Normandie, Mémorial de Caen, and Casden Banque Populaire (Banque coopérative des personels de l¿éducation, de la recherche et de la culture). The second research seminar, in Helsinki in September 2012, was supported financially by the Research Centre for Social Studies Education at the University of Helsinki, Finnish Educational Research Association FERA, Finnish Society for the History of Education, and the French Embassy in Finland. The support of these bodies is gratefully acknowledged.
