Abstract (EN): Assuming a simple head geometry, with semi-infinite magnetic shields, a study was conducted on the effect of such shields on the field produced by the recorded medium in the sensor. This was done by relating the problem with semi-infinite shields to another with infinite shields, using conformal mapping. The results lead to the conclusion that the use of perfect double imaging assuming infinite shields overestimates the effect of such shields in the applied field calculation.
