Objectives
Consolidate and deepen the knowledge about the different intervention modes in young and adult delinquents, already introduced in other subjects.
Focus critically on the evolution of rationality and on the models of intervention in delinquents within criminal policies and philosophies.
To know the different contexts of intervention in delinquents and the major needs arisen.
To know the programs, treatment and rehabilitation techniques most used in the different contexts of intervention as well as the results of assessments studies undertaken.
Program
I. Introduction
Historical and epistemological analysis of the theoretical references of intervention in delinquent behavior within the criminal and philosophical policy framework.
II. Intervention in delinquent behavior – reference framework and intervention levels
1. Intervention models in delinquent behavior
• Reference framework and intervention levels
• Programs and Treatment Techniques
• Non-behavioral psychological and psychiatric models
• Behavioural and cognitive-behavioural models
2. Contexts and practices
• Specific features, principles and ethical rules - comparison between the normative-legal and clinical perspective
• Models and practices applied to the differential contexts of intervention.
• Professional and personal skills: techniques to support the communication/relation with the delinquent
Teaching methods and learning activities
Lectures and practices in which the contents exposed are complemented by the application of the knowledge acquired to the themes presented.
Small group work will be privileged so as to analyse and discuss the subject matters through documentary source research prepared by the student and role-playing techniques.
